The research George Barna has collected and written about in his book, Transforming Children into Spiritual Champions, shows that by the age of 9, a child's attitudes have potentially been formed. These attititudes will dictate their future life-long choices, values and beliefs. The forefront of our daily curriculum and teaching is that "God is our leader".
An example of Emergent and Project Learning ... The preschool's annual collective project named, "We Can Help!" is an effort to partnership with the Samaritan's Purse Organization, Operation Christmas Child, Christmas Shoebox Gifts. The preschool children worked and provided to bring shoe box gifts reflecting God's love across the world. They did so by doing chores at home and at school to earn vouchers to purchase the toys at the preschool's "I Can Help Store". During this project process, the children learned many lessons:
- Servanthood
- Daily prayers for others
- That they can make a difference in the world and in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ
- About places and cultures around the world
- About all the ways that transportation occurs
- The celebration of supporting a worldwide missionary vision
- Enjoying the use of video curriculum extension materials
- Loving your neighbors as yourself
- The joy of giving is far greater than receiving
